A Suitcase Full of Possibilities!

Chris's Grandma Sally has Alzheimer's It is a totally sad thing to watch happen to anyone that you love. My mother in law and I have been cleaning out her house and have come across some pretty neat things. Next to her dresser sat this vintage style suite case. I thought cool. I had remembered seeing it over the past 19 years. But never new what was in it. When I opened it I was so delighted to see such a treasure. It was filled to the brim with wonderful old photos. Mama has asked me to organize the photos for her. I thought scrapbook. What fun! Mama has only Grandma left. She lost her Dad in '99 and then her sister just a few years after. It is important for me to do this for her.
I will let everyone see my progress as I go. I plan on having this book done by Christmas. It should be a lot of fun to do.
Happy Scrappin,

Night Time Inspiration.

On Tuesday I went to my friend Suzanne's house to scrap. Well, We didn't get to much done, I just had no inspiration. That night when everyone went to bed I decided to straiten out my supplies.... Along the way I had found an unopened pack of black card stock. Basic, nothing fancy. I also came across my shimmer ink in copper. Here is what I came up with. It is a simple card that has a richness about it. All of the stamps that I used were from TAC. The tree stamp that I used is from the Love and Laughter set. The swirl in the back ground is from the Cute Curliques set. I was very pleased with the end result.
Happy Scrappin!!

Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday!!! Our good friends Chris and Jenn have to of the cutest girls. I, Being a mom of 2 boys, love to shop for little girls. But everytime Chris and I go out he always beats me to the punch line. I love sparkly things so I couldn't resist this really cool all over glitter paper. I used TAC stamp s from the Petal Pack collection. The stamp has a great selections of stamps that you can use on their own or combined with others in this collection.

I used bright purple and pink ink. Palette makes ink packs called Spot 4. I used the Renoir collection. If you are new to stamping over even an old pro this gives you a great grouping of colors that work wonderfully together.

The cards look cuter in person, the flash from the camera causes a glare on the glitter paper. I hope that you get the general idea.

Let's hear it for the Red, White and Blue!!!
With Memorial Day behind us and Forth of July on it's way I made this wonderful vintage style card. The inspiration was the theme to this months Swap. Patriotic.
I love red, white and blue. On one of my many trips to Michaels I found this really pretty vintage style paper. In Versa Magic Jumbo Java ink I stamped the word freedom on Cream colored card stock. I used Stickles to add a little extra fun to the letters. If you haven't used stickles, do yourself a favor and give them a try. You will love the result they give you. Plus who doesn't love a little sparkle. I used navy and dark red paper as accents.

To tie it all together I added a powder
blue ribbon.
WORD TO THE WISE----
I used 3M Quick dry Glue for the ribbon.
Not smart. You could see the glue line.
SO, I added another piece of ribbon
on top. All I can say is DOUBLE SIDED TAPE :0)

Enjoy!

Everyday I walk through the copy room at school, and eveyday I pass the Ellison machine. Well one fine day I got this amazing idea to use the machine. (mind you I have passed this machine every school day for 2 years) So that very next day I went through my paper and came across a wonderful paper collection called Penelope. Here is a card that I came up with... The buttons That I used look very blue in the picture, but are more purple.

I love making things with my kids. I always think homemade gifts are a fun way to show someone just how much you love them. Here are the 2 bags that I made with my son Jason for his Grandmothers.(zach was not into it this year) Jay picked out all the paper as well as stickers. He was so proud of himself.

Thinking outside the box.

The other day a few girlfriends and I got together for a little scrapping fun. This was the very first time that I had to come up with the project. To tell you the truth I was a little nervous, Creating ideas for me is hard. I love doing all sorts of crafts and wanted to do something with more then one purpose. So I decided to think out side the box a little. I like to clip out things from magazines that I like and give me inspiration. I keep all of these ideas in a binder called the Great Big Book of Everything. A while back I found a messanger bag with a photo tranfer. When I came across it I thought that since mothers day was coming why not make a tote. The girls seem to like the idea.

Each of us used an 8"X 8" square to make a scrapbook page. Once the pages were done, I transfered them on to fabric. Then attached them to the tote fronts and backs with a simple zig zag stitch. So the girls got two great projects out of this. Not only beautiful pages, but a tote as well. They came out truly awesome.
All of the paper that was uses was from The Angel company. You can see these collection in the Fall/Winter Inspiration catalogue
Amberley Grace collection can be found on page 22
Amelia collection can be found on page 102
Rustic Chic collection can be found on page 88
The Colorfast sew in ink jet fabric sheets can be found in Walmart or at http://www.junetaylor.com/.
--- FYI ----if you don't have an ink jet printer you can also take this to staples and they can copy it there, just ask them to copy it in mirror image. This will prevent your words from coming out backwards. (I learned that one the hard way)
